the barbecue

Mum I remember when I lived in a flat and you said I could use your back garden to hold a barbecue if I wanted too.

after sending 75-80 invites. Thinking not many would turn up. I also booked a disco and organised a fairly big party tent lol.

8.00pm came and 8 Ashfield Crescent was turned from happy family home to a very busy nightclub lol.

The place was heaving. BBQs wouldn't light so me and Debbie were cooking in the kitchen.

you didn't moan or whinge once, you took it all in your stride joined in the drinking mixing with all the others. was a great night.

you didn't even seem to care when we had three visits from the local constabulary as regards the noise.

you eventually kicked us all out at 5.30 the next morning.

I do however remember your pure horror when you realised one of the guests had stolen 3 pieces from your jigsaws you had on the walls leading up the stairs.

you were the life and soul of that party and i was hugely proud to show my mum off to all my workmates.

these memories and a million more will remain forever etched in my heart.

our lives will never be the same again.

now you have your wings mum fly happy and carefree.

love you so so much.
